Event: Spring Walk and Talk

The snow is nearly gone, the birds are out, and so what better time to get together than in a few short weeks for our first public event?

You’re invited to join us for our Spring Walk and Talk on Saturday, April 23 at 10 a.m. at South Keys Station next to the Walmart at South Keys Centre.

Rain or shine, we’ll go for a leisurely walk and stop at several points around the shopping plaza to discuss the planned redevelopment – as well as ideas for how to make this a hub for Ottawa South that could serve as a model for future mall redevelopments across the city.

Accompanied kids are welcome to join – it’s their future community too! It will be a leisurely-paced, accessible, and friendly walk of approximately 3 km in a loop (ending where we start) lasting between one to two hours depending on questions and discussions.

RSVP

The shopping plaza is flanked by two major transit stations and is central to the current work underway to extend the O-Train south to the Airport and Riverside South. With several new developments proposed that would add new residents and businesses to the plaza, this redevelopment could transform the area, as well as to better serve the surrounding communities.

Join us for an invigorating discussion about the future of our community! The event is free but we ask that you RSVP to help us manage numbers.

Please wear comfortable and weather-appropriate footwear if you are walking and dress for the weather as it takes place rain or shines!

If you want to join us, hear about opportunities to have your say, or just get updates, please join our mailing list. You can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
