A big thank you to everyone who was able to join us for our One-year anniversary meeting last night. We had a fun little round of trivia, some recaps from each of our committees, an excellent presentation from our guest speakers at Fotenn Planning and Design and then we wrapped it up with some of our priorities for next year. We hope you can join us for a celebration of our first year successes and all the great ideas for next! Please register in advance. We’ll have a special guest and even trivia!

We asked those running for city councillor for Ward 10 – Gloucester-Southgate to answer a few questions pertaining to the redevelopment of South Keys Centre.

Have your say in the community vision for the first City park at South Keys Centre.
Perhaps the most important element of the transformation of South Keys Centre is the OC Transpo O-Train Line 2 expansion project currently underway. While the former Line 2 (“Trillium Line”) ended at Greenboro, after construction is completed next year the line will run to Barrhaven, with several new stations along the way, including at South Keys.
If you’ve visited the South Keys Shopping Centre before, it’s likely you didn’t really stop to look around. This is no accident: the existing “big box” retail is designed for you to easily drive to a store, walk in, and walk out without much hassle. Aside from the seasonal patio in front of the Starbucks, you’re unlikely to see anyone gathering or hanging out at South Keys Centre.
Join us for a short group ride-and-chat to discuss ways to improve pedestrian and cycling connections along the Greenboro Pathway to South Keys Shopping Centre. We’ll ride to the South Keys Transit Station and back with a few stops along the way.
n collaboration with Better South Keys Centre, City Stream Watch will be conducting a cleanup in Sawmill Creek at the South Keys Shopping Centre. Participants will help to clean up garbage in the stream and shorelines surrounding Sawmill Creek. We will meet up at the South Keys parking lot by the Kelsey’s Restaurant at 9:00 AM.
